The Sex Lives of College Girls

After returning from summer break, Leighton, Kimberly, and Whitney move into their dorm room together to begin their sophomore year at Essex. The girls meet their new roommate, Jenny, which is a huge surprise to them because they thought Bela would be living with them again. As Leighton, Kimberly, and Whitney are eating their lunch on the first day of class in the cafeteria, they anxiously text Bela. Eventually, Bela FaceTimes them and tells them that she transferred from Essex and is now studying comedy writing at NYU! Feeling slightly betrayed, but mostly frustrated that Bela had to transfer and didn't tell them, the girls form a plan to convince Bela to come back to Essex.
After the first day of classes, Whitney has her first official day of soccer practice with the team. A new star athlete on the team threatens Whitney's status on the team as the new soccer coach seems to favor the new girl, Kacey. Kimberly returns to her on campus job and finds out that Canaan quit and Lila found a higher paying job on campus, so Kimberly is working with an all new staff. The new manager is unorganized and puts Kimberly in charge of training everyone.
At the first Theta party of the year, Leighton, Kimberly, and Whitney are mingling as they discuss their plan to go to New York City and find Bela. As Kacey talks to Whitney about how excited she is to be on the Varsity Essex soccer team, she receives a text from their new soccer coach, Daniel, that she tries to hide from Whitney, but Whitney spots it out of the corner of her eye. Kimberly asks Lila why she quit her job at the coffee shop, not paying attention, Lila tells Kimberly about the cute new exchange student, Henry, from England.
Leighton, Kimberly, and Whitney leave the party early and Leighton calls a car service to drive them to New York City. As they are getting in the car, Whitney spots Kacey enter a car with Daniel in the driver's seat.
During the car ride to New York City, Leighton, Kimberly, and Whitney go over the details of their plan. Kimberly looked up all the dorms on the NYU campus and figured out which one Bela was in based on the background in her FaceTime video when she called them. Kimberly also prepared several notecards of what to say, which Leighton and Whitney immediately shut down. Kimberly also baked Bela banana bread which Leighton and Whitney reluctantly admit was a nice gesture. Kimberly admits to Leighton that she has never been to New York City, and Leighton immediately starts planning fun things to do around the city.
The girls arrive outside Bela's dorm and start climbing the fire escape, their only way in. When they reach Bela's window, the girls noisily knock on the glass, waking Bela up. Bela is shocked to see them, but she lets them in, impressed by their climbing skills.
In Bela's dorm room, Leighton, Kimberly, and Whitney attempt to convince Bela to come back to Essex, but Bela explains that she has been thriving at NYU and she doesn't want to leave. She has joined two different comedy magazines and has an internship at a Late Night Talk Show.
Bela lets the girls crash at her place and they agree to have one last girls outing in the city the next day.
Leighton shows them around Soho, and the girls admire all the designer stores as they keep Leighton from going into every single one. Leighton takes them to a popular running spot by the water where Bela drools over the attractive men running by her.
As the girls are on a ferry boat looking at the Statue of Liberty, Kimberly gets a FaceTime call from her parents and she freaks out because they aren't supposed to know that she went to New York City. Kimberly explains that she finally told her parents over the summer about losing her scholarship and that they would get mad if they knew she was skipping class. The girls attempt to make it look like Kimberly isn't on a boat by bringing her inside and sitting her in front of a blank wall.
As Kimberly is on FaceTime with her parents, noises from the boat grow increasingly louder and the boat rocks back and forth. Her parents start getting suspicious as Kimberly starts feeling sea sick. She motions to the girls that she is going to throw up and the girls motion to her that she can't. Ultimately, Kimberly gives in and throws up all over the floor while her parents are still on the phone. Unfortunately for Kimberly, she spilled her guts and the girls' secret.
